Strategies for Success with Media in a Copyrighted World

The Morris Library Instructional Media Department will offer UD Instructors an hour-long overview of that will illustrate how teachers can operate successfully with media in a copyrighted world. While many presentation materials have restricted use, there is a wealth of materials that can be tapped freely and legally. The emphasis for this session will be on what you can do to take advantage of free resources and licensed media available at UD, as well as recent developments in copyright law that allow faculty greater flexibility when using media for instruction. The University of Delaware Library is presenting a workshop for UD faculty and researchers on research funding from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 26, in the Library Instruction Room, 116A in the Morris Library. The workshop will focus on two library databases — Foundation Directory Online and COS Funding Opportunities — that faculty and staff can use to identify potential funding resources, such as grants from private foundations, corporations and public charities. The workshop will cover strategies for searching the databases, using alerting services and RSS feeds, and locating additional grant information on the Internet.This workshop is co-sponsored by the Library and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Graduate Studies.There is no charge, but registration is required, and seating is limited.
